Just wanted to let you know Burli delivered our pencil post bed Sunday afternoon.  He did a wonderful job and the bed arrived in perfect condition. If he ever wants to haul for you again we highly recommend him.  We also wanted you to know that you did a marvelous job.  The bed is one of, if not the nicest piece of furniture we own.  Your craftsmanship and pride in your work is very obvious. Your web video on assembly was very helpful too.  We had it together easily by following your directions.    Thanks again for your wonderful workmanship.

Regarding our new bed…WE LOVE IT! We have Heavenly mattress’ on all three beds you made for us, but the one in our master had been sitting on a metal frame. I hadn’t been able to sleep in this bed, would toss and turn and finally give up and move to our spare room. NOT ANYMORE, the bed is as heavenly as our other beds. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the room, why I couldn’t sleep there. It is cut-up with dormers and bed placement isn’t the best and was thinking that must be why.

Bed came early and was incredibly easy to assemble (took less than 15 minutes). My main concern with buying a bed online was how sturdy it would be — no one wants to sleep in a wobbly bed. This bed is REALLY solid. No wiggling, no squeaks, no movement. It feels as solid as if it were part of the house. It also looks much more expensive than it is. This is the biggest Etsy purchase I have ever made and also the easiest. The shop kept me apprised of every stage of building and shipping the bed. Stop waffling, put down the Pottery Barn catalog and buy a bed from Shaka Studios.

Words cannot describe how beautiful this piece came out. It is the showpiece of our family room and receives compliments from everyone who sees it. Kandas and Shane were wonderful to work with…very patient with us in designing a custom piece. For anyone looking to have a quality piece of furniture made to their wishes, this is the place to go!

I absolutely love my bed! It is elegant and well made.  The owners were easy to work with and were patient with all my requests for measurements, etc. Having them deliver it themselves and put it together was a big plus.  Truly professional and artists as well.

Everything about this bed is wonderful and just what we wanted. It is lovely and sturdy and will be handed down for generations. Shaka Studios was very responsive and communicative throughout the process, and I asked many questions. These people are a pleasure to work with and their product is beautiful. I absolutely cannot recommend them highly enough. I am very grateful that I found them.

Normally, I take forever to make furniture decisions but after finding ShaKa Studios, I was hooked on the design and multiple customization options which really helped me create the look I want and the perfectly sized TV console for my given space. I just placed my order today, but cannot wait to see the finished piece. It will be worth the wait. Kandas was great to work with and provided good advice as I was deciding between the various options.

Our piece got delivered this past Friday, 8/21/15.

We had been communicating by phone with Merik prior to its delivery. He was spot on with his delivery time!

We can’t express enough to you how beautiful you made our Entertainment Center. We have an open kitchen/family room space and it is the focal point of our room. Our TV and all its components fit like a glove. The workmanship is stellar and the finishing work is beyond beautiful.

I feel in some way that I have gotten to know the two of you…through my emails with Kandas and watching a YouTube video of you, Shane! The two of you go beyond simply making furniture. You create something very special for the homes of your customers.

We wish the two of you health and happiness and thank you ever so much for working with us…with all of our change of decisions and countless emails. You were ever so patient with us. You may well hear from us again…we love having quality furniture in our home.

I am apprehensive purchasing a product—sight unseen—that is a significant amount of money over the internet. I did extensive checking on the internet and found many, many customers and furniture dealers that spoke highly of the work that Shaka Studios did. I contacted them and spoke to Kandas who was efficient, professional, very helpful & accomodating. I became very comfortable with her after speaking to her several times and began to trust that this company might in fact be ‘the real deal’. I purchased a media cabinet which took several months to be built and shipped but it surpassed all my expectations of quality, workmanship, and customer service. Shaka Studios is the type of small business, locally owned company that this country was built upon. Made in the USA with personal service and a keen desire for the customer to ‘get the full value of what they paid’. I don’t see many businesses operate like this anymore—Shaka Studio is a real treasure and a ‘great find’!

I now have a media cabinet that was made to my needs and my specifications. I was allowed to determine the width/size that was best for me, I altered the colors that were offered and received a color that fit perfectly in my own family room, and I was able to change other simple design elements of the media cabinet (the front apron of the unit). It became my own making and I was not ‘financially penalized’ for asking Shaka Studios to build a piece of furniture that best met my needs. I did not have to ‘make do’ with a furniture solution that might be nice but not perfect for what I wanted in my own home. In the process I gained a piece of furniture that was custom built for me, contained high quality workmanship that is rarely found anymore, and something I see everyday that makes my home feel ‘just right’. This will be the furniture piece that gets ‘passed down’ through the generations.

Shaka Studios is so focused on the customer and making sure the customer is happy. Kandas is amazing–she makes the customer feel comfortable, she encourages the customer to ‘lay out’ what would be their perfect idea of the furniture piece, she makes it so easy to alter designs to meet the customer’s desires, and she is an excellent ‘coach and advisor’ to help the end design deliver the maximum architectural integrity. After my experience, I plan to be Shaka Studios best fan forever more!

I recommend Shaka Studios, quite simply because I have grown to trust them and believe they will take care of me and that they care about my satisfaction. I believe if there were any problems that they would ‘make it right’ even if that resulted in less profit for them. This type of customer service is extremely rare. Further benefits include:

1. Handmade furniture built like furniture was built 50 years ago

2. Finish/stain color used that the customer can choose (if you don’t see what you like, find it and send it to them…no problem)

3. People at Shaka Studios are friendly and build trust with the customer…I see this as a long term relationship and a business that I will go to if I have any future furniture needs (and many of my furniture pieces in my house are antique & ‘one of a kind’ pieces—Shaka Studios furniture fits in to that space)

After receiving my piece, I think Shaka Studios could charge a higher price for their furniture. The problem is that since some people–like me—don’t really know them and are taking a chance when you find a company on the internet—if the price gets too high then people will be afraid to ‘take that chance’. If Shaka Studios increases the percent of their business that is repeat business or business referrals (someone orders something because their friend had purchased from Shaka Studios), then I believe they could increase the price on the pieces they make.

Hi, finally got around to taking some pictures. The light in my living room isn’t too great, and all I have is a point ‘n shoot camera, so they don’t really do your work justice. But we do love the way it looks.

We love our bed! Thank you for all the many hours you took in crafting it. We get to sleep on a work of art each night!

The finish is gorgeous – smooth to the touch. The lines are simple and smart. It has a vintage and modern feel at the same time. It is the focal point of the room without being pretentious.

It assembled very easily – followed common sense. I keep looking down the hall into our bedroom and marveling at the beautiful bed standing where there was only a mattress on the floor. Quite the contrast. We were so used to sleeping on the floor that it took some adjustment to the new height when getting out of the bed in the morning. The first morning our alarm clock started beeping Hugh rolled out of bed to go silence it, but the floor was much further below his feet than he had groggily calculated. There was a loud thud and a startled Hugh (and me too). We’ve got the hang of it now.

Just a note to possibly help future clients: It is scary to send money electronically over the internet to someone you have never met ordering furniture that you have never seen. More communication and maybe even some emailed photos to let us know and see the progress would have made us feel more at ease about the many weeks and months without a tangible object for the money we spent.

We will gladly recommend you to anyone, but that would have been helpful from our point of view. We did spray paint the bottom bare wood slats brown on the ends because they show a bit when covers are pulled back. Now our eyes are not drawn to the new wood slats sticking out under the mattress but can enjoy the lovely lines of the whole bed. Thank you for the extra slats you included. We were able to place our mattress right on top of them without buying and cutting plywood. The plywood would have made the mattress rest too high off the side rails, I think, and probably would have been even more visible than the bed slats. I like what you did better. We are very delighted with our bed.

Oh my goodness — there are not sufficient words in the English language to describe the awesome red on mustard on black finish and the workmanship. They built me a printer cabinet on top of a file drawer.
