Grant Frautschi commissioned a New Haven Tall Cherry Cannonball Bed in Classic Cherry stain in early 2015.
Grant’s bed is unique. Most clients choose 48 inch tall foot posts. Both the head and foot posts of Grant’s gorgeous cherry bed are 58 inches tall.
A few months later, Grant sent Shane the following e-mail, wondering if he assembled his bed correctly:
Shane,
First off we are very pleased with our bed it is everything we expected and more. I have wondered for a while if I put it together correctly. I followed the numbers on the headboard and the bolts are on the inside next to the pillow. Is this correct? Seems to me that we see a lot of hardware and a cut-out when the pillows are moved.
You can see close up what I mean. Someday I might try to flip the board so the hardware faces the wall.
Any input would be appreciated and thanks for a great bed.

Hi Grant,
90% of the time the mattress covers that area and it is not an issue. But, not to fret. Just flip the rail around and problem solved.
There are several reasons why I have the bolts on the inside.
1) It is easier to set up (for me, anyway).
2) If the bolts need to be tightened, you don’t have to pull the bed out to get at the bolts.
But I do finish both sides of the headrail, so if there is an issue you can flip it around.
